This product is great for 1 to 2 years This machine was great for almost 2 years. Then it won"t start. I used the addiates for the gas and still it stop running. The warranty don" cover the carbarator. This is the only trouble for all low end Machin. The repair shop want $ 125 dollars to repair. You can BUYone for a little more.I now have 3 machine with the same trouble. If you don"t mind buying one every 1 to 2 years this is OK DEAL. Edger Model # PE550 Not durable and difficult to find for new purchase. October 3, 2013
Not terrible for the money I have used this product over 20 times now and it is still going strong. The left wheel did fall off after just a few uses which I have attached with wire at the moment. Weed Eater could make it a little easier to find/order replacement parts. There is almost nothing left of the blade which I also need a replacement. I edge pretty deep and hit concrete from time to time so a worn blade is to be expected. But my yard looks great and I am sure to use the edger when my neighbors aren't home since they wonder how I do it (they think I am doing it with my trimmer#. I have gone well over the 50 hours of warranty that it has and for the price I paid, if I get 3 years out of it, I will be very satisfied. Don't buy it if you think you will have something that will last 20 years, because it won't. It wasn't built that way, hence the price. Do buy it if you want something that will start easy #with correct fuel mixture), and work the way the manufacturer intended it to. September 14, 2013
edger Not super impressed. Wheel fell off during 1st use and after fixing wheel pull cord broke trying to restart. July 15, 2013
Good for a year I've owned my edger for about a year. Used it 4-5 times. It worked well the times I used it, but by this year the internal gearing had completely stripped out. I have a fairly impressive tool collection, but did not have the proprietary tools required to do the work myself. July 14, 2013
Junk My first PE550 lasted over 10 years - even after my wife ran over it with the car! The new one has been nothing but trouble. Should have kept the first and rebuilt it. Same experience with my leaf blower, first one lasted forever then new one is trash. May 24, 2013
Great Product, only 1 flaw I had the Sears Craftsman version of this for 20 years before it needed a rebuild. I decided to buy a new one vs. put the money into a new carburetor, fuel lines, and starter rope on the old one. Until recently I never failed to start on 3 pulls. This newer one starts on 2-3 pulls. It's easy to pull the starter too. The only flaw is they replaced the third wheel and height mechanism with a "foot". The foot causes drag and makes the unit a little more unstable. The good news is that if you have one of the older models with the 3rd wheel, that wheel and height mechanism can be put on your new edger. It took me about 15-20 minutes to make the change, so don't throw away your old one with the 3rd wheel before you get a new PE550. In fact you might want to keep the rear wheels from the old one as spares too, they are built better than the new ones. May 22, 2013
Useless Everything from grass to dirt stops it from working. Shame I had it so long before I used for the first, and last time, or it would go back for a refund. May 20, 2013
